Do I need to sign up for classes ahead of time?
We offer two types of classes: registered courses and drop-in classes. The majority of our courses require registration. For Drop-in classes you can buy a card of 5 or 10 and have the
flexibility to use them when it suits your schedule. However, in certain classes like Ballroom Basics and Salsa Beginner you have to call ahead and reserve your space. There are no guarantees
there will be space if you show up just before class
What if I've never taken a dance class before?
There are many classes for beginners - specifically, our "Ballroom Basics" courses. Any course termed "beginner" is designed for those students who have little, or no training in that specific
style of dance. We recommend you start at these levels and progress to higher level classes the more comfortable you become. Courses that do not have a level specification are good for all levels,
including beginner dancers.
Do I need a partner?
Do I need a partner?
NO way! In fact, the majority of our students attend as singles. The class is structured where there are frequent partner rotations. Private lessons can be taken one on one with an instructor, or
you can attend the lesson with a partner. The prices will vary depending on how many students are in a private or semi-private lesson together.
What is the dress code for classes?
his depends of the type of dance class you are taking. Because Ballroom/Latin are social dances, you can wear anything, from jeans to business wear, to evening wear. (Ballroom shoes are for sale
at the reception desk.) For Hip Hop classes we recommend loose or stretch clothing. For Ballet classes it is recommended you wear tight fitting stretch clothing, hair should be pulled up.
Generally, workout/yoga wear is good for any of our fitness classes.
What type of shoes do I wear for class and where can I get them?
Ballroom/Latin for ladies, heels with a strap around the ankle are preferred unless you never wear heels. Then a smooth soled shoe for men and women will do. No flip-flop sandals, or thick
rubber soled shoes as these shoes can cause injury. We sell quality Ballroom/Latin dance shoes at our reception desk for an affordable price. For Hip Hop indoor or clean running shoes/sneakers.
For Ballet please wear soft jazz slippers, ballet slippers, bare foot, or non slip socks are best. Remember for these classes you must be able to point and flex your feet easily.
How large are the classes and what is the general age range?
We aim for quality not quantity. Depending on the course, we limit the class size to provide the students in the class with the best instruction possible. Personal attention is guaranteed no matter what the size of the class is.
Adult age range is from 19 years to 101. Our teen and kids courses range are indicated in the class description.
How can I pay for my classes?
We accept cash, debit, paypal, visa, mastercard, American Express, cheque and online with Pay Pal. Pre-registration is required for the group classes. Payment can be made in person or by credit card over the phone.
For security purposes, we do not keep your credit card information on file.
What if I miss a class?
For registered classes there are no make-up, refunds or credit given for missed classes. Drop-in classes are either pay as you go or by purchasing a card of 5 or 10 classes. Cards of 5 or 10 classes are valid for 6 months.
How do private lessons work?
Private lessons can be taken in any style of dance with your instructor of choice. They can be purchased by packages from 4 - 100 or even single lessons. Semi privates are private lessons booked with 3 or more students. We do our best to
accomodate your schedule when booking and lessons can be booked during regular studio hours. Payment is required in full for all private lessons and are subject to 24 hour cancellation fee.
How do I get there and is there parking?
